How To Use A Blunt Roller

Grab one of the many blunt rollers that King Palm has for sale to put a more professional finish on your blunts. If you’ve never used one before, we’ll walk you through it, it’s easier than you think.

Step 1: Grind Your Weed

While you want a medium grind for hand-rolling, using a blunt roller is usually better with a slightly finer grind. This allows you to get a better roll without having to go back and pack it down as much.

Step 2: Place Your Blunt Tip

With the roller’s hammock open, put in your preferred blunt filter. Make sure to slide the tip to one side to minimize wasted space.

Step 3: Fill The Hammock

Now you need to fill the roller, ensuring you don’t drop any weed onto the filter tip. Another benefit to a roller is that you can often get more cannabis in it initially, than with a hand-roll.

Step 4: Close & Lock The Roller

Push the rolling bar forward and down slightly to lock it. If you don’t lock it and start to roll anyway, it could pop open and send your weed flying.

Step 5: Rotate To Roll

Roll your thumbs downward to start the rolling process. Once that has started, you can feed your blunt wrap into the top, and the roller will handle the even rolling.

Step 6: Lick & Stick

Stop rolling with enough wrap left to make your seal. You’ll need at least a half-inch or so for blunt wraps. Moisten the end well, and continue rolling until the end of the wrap has rolled around the blunt, then hold it there for a few seconds to help it seal.

Step 7: Finishing Touches

Now you can pop your roller open and carefully take your blunt out. To finish it, you must first bake it to ensure it stays sealed. Use a conventional Bic-style lighter to heat the blunt from below, drying it and fixing the seal. After baking, you can fill it with any remaining weed to top it off.

If you aren’t going to spark it up immediately, we recommend moistening the non-filter end of the wrap and folding it over to close the blunt. This helps keep it full if it needs to travel.

How To Roll A Palm Blunt By Hand

Step 1: Grind Your Weed

Rolling a blunt by hand is easier when you have your cannabis ground up, rather than breaking it up by hand. Using a weed grinder is much easier and faster than breaking up your buds by hand and gives a more even consistency. An important part of rolling a blunt by hand is consistency. It should be a medium grind, not too chunky, but not a super-fine grind. This will help you get the right result. Too coarse, and your blunt will be airy, too fine, and you’ll have trouble taking hits.

Step 2: Place Your Blunt Tip

For the best smoking experience, you’ll want to use one of our many blunt tip options. Your filter tip is an important part of the blunt and provides some benefits for those in the session. It keeps the end of the blunt open, but prevents weed flakes from coming through. It also allows the cannabis smoke a place to cool down before entering your lungs, which makes it a much smoother and more enjoyable hit. Put your tip at one end of the blunt wrap, this end will be the end you draw from.

Step 3: Fill Your Wrap

Now, holding your blunt wrap in one hand, add your ground cannabis to the wrap with the other. If you’re using a blunt filter, ensure you are only adding the weed between the end of the filter tip and the other end of the wrap. Make sure the wrap is filled as evenly as possible. You’ll have the chance to even it more while rolling, though.

Step 4: Roll The Paper

Using mainly your thumbs and forefingers, with your middle fingers supporting the blunt from beneath, begin making a slow snapping motion with your fingers. You will start rolling the blunt, but you need to ensure that the weed is evened out as much as possible so that your blunt burns evenly. Once you have rolled the blunt up most of the way, you’ll be left with just a small strip of the blunt wrap left at the top. Moisten this part by licking it, and then finish the roll, holding the seal in place for a few seconds to ensure it takes.

Step 5: Bake The Blunt

One of the most important steps to finishing a hand-rolled blunt is to bake it. This dries the blunt wrap and seals you just made, which firms it up and prepares it to smoke. To bake the blunt, hold your lighter slightly below the blunt, and allow the flame’s heat to dry while you rotate it evenly. This is generally done with a conventional lighter, not a jet lighter.
